Itinerary
On arrival at JKIA our representative will pick you and transfer you for your overnight in Nairobi.
After breakfast, depart for your drive past the upcountry towns of Sagana, Karatina, Narumoro, and Nanyuki to the hot and dry northern part of Kenya. A significant feature of Samburu is the Uaso Nyiro River which runs across the park giving life to this hot and dry habitat. The park is home to the Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, beisa oryx, elephants, lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dogs and over 450 species of birds. It is in this park that recently a lion captured the attention of the whole world by repeatedly adopting baby Oryxes.
As a cultural destination, Samburu is home to maa Maa-speaking group, the Samburu, the closest relatives of the Masaai. The Samburu’s colourful and rich culture remains unmoved by the whirlwind of changes in our modern world, inspiring the research and writing of many books on African culture. Check in for lunch. After lunch, depart for an afternoon game drive, returning in time for dinner.

The hippos lazing around the lake and the yellow fever trees beckon you to this peaceful relaxed lakeside setting. Bird watching and leisure walks should be a nice treat to yourselves. You can take a boat ride to Crater Lake and sport fishing (extra cost). Overnight on full board
Depart after breakfast and drive onwards to Narok through Masai country and onto the world-renowned game reserve, Masai Mara, arriving in time for lunch.
By far the most visited park in Kenya, the park is home to Kenya's Big Five – the Lion, Rhino, Cheetah, Leopard, and Elephant. Wildebeest, zebra, Giraffe, and numerous antelopes, the spotted hyena, and other plains game. Additionally, over 450 species of birdlife have been identified in the park.

Arise at dawn for your best game viewing chances as the wild awakens. Your tour guide will help you spot the animals as they start their day. Return to the hotel for a late breakfast. Rest of the morning at leisure. Optional activities include a visit to a Masaai village and nature walks (extra cost)

Instead of the early morning game drive, you can opt for a balloon safari. (USD 450 per person) The feeling is indescribable as your hot air balloon lifts off the ground over the plains of Mara. Crisp fresh wilderness air, the chill of the wind, the excitement. Balloon Safaris are a romantic and evocative way of experiencing the wilderness of East Africa, as you gracefully and silently fly over the plains teeming with herds of wildlife in the early morning. The flight is followed by a champagne breakfast "in the bush", with a well laid out seating arrangement and waiters on hand, to give you a fitting finale to your memorable flight in the wild.
