Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest By Flight

Arrival at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda, you will be welcomed by our company guide and transferred to the Hotel in Entebbe, Dinner is included.

After breakfast, transfer to Entebbe International Airport for a Domestic flight to Bwindi in the Southwestern part of

Uganda. Depending on the season, it is possible to have an early morning, midday or afternoon flight depending on availability and the  flight takes approximately 1 hour to reach the destination depending on the days routings.  Lunch at Hotel in Bwindi. In the afternoon visit the Batwa community. Optional.

Note: The distance from Entebbe to Bwindi is about 450km depending on the sector and the transfer is for a full day. 

Breakfast. After an early morning breakfast, transfer to the briefing Centre for a short briefing from the rangers which starts at 0800 hours. Clients take with them packed lunch, bottled water, gloves, surgical face masks, walking sticks and it is also advisable to take a porter. A porter is included for each tourist. After trekking return to lodge.  Evening is free time at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is located in southwestern Uganda, near the borders of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is one of the most biologically diverse and ecologically significant rainforests in the world, covering about 321 square kilometres of rugged terrain.

 It is home to approximately half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, making it a prime destination for gorilla trekking. In addition to gorillas, Bwindi is rich in wildlife, including other primates, birds, reptiles, and a variety of plant species, many of which are endemic to the region.

Gorilla Trekking can be carried out in one of the allocated sectors Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo.  Please see below for gorilla trekking rules and regulations. 

Breakfast. After an early morning breakfast, transfer to Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip for a domestic flight to Entebbe International Airport.  Depending on the schedule it’s possible to either stay at the airport or transfer to hotel in Entebbe for a day room use. 

The flight from Kisoro / kihihi airstrip is about 1hr and 30mins. The exact departure time is reconfirmed at trip booking and confirmation.
