After breakfast, we start a half day city tour of Kigali, visiting significant and interesting places in Kigali like, lunch at a restaurant in Kigali. After lunch, transfer to the Eastern part of Rwanda to Akagera National Park.

Akagera National Park is located in the eastern part of the country along the border with Tanzania, it is the largest protected wetland in Central Africa and one of the last remaining refuges for savannah-adapted wildlife in Rwanda.

Named after the Kagera River which flows along its eastern boundary, Akagera is a diverse ecosystem that includes savannah plains, woodlands, wetlands, and a string of scenic lakes. This varied landscape supports a wide array of wildlife, including the "Big Five"—lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards, and rhinos—thanks to successful conservation and reintroduction efforts in recent years, boat safaris on Lake Ihema, birdwatching (with over 500 species recorded), and cultural experiences with the local communities.

After an early morning breakfast, we go for a morning game drive in Akagera National Park, is this an opportunity to spot elephants, buffalos, giraffe, zebras, leopards, hyenas, lions. Several antelopes including bushbucks, Topis, Oribis, water-buck, roan antelope and duiker etc, Return to lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, a scheduled evening boat. Dinner and overnight at Lodge. After breakfast, direct transfer to the Northen part of Rwanda towards Volcnaoes National Park passing through Kigali city, the transfer takes approximately 6 hours, lunch is organized at lodge in Musanze.  In the evening we visit Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund Campus a significant conservation hub located near Volcanoes National Park. Dinner and overnight at Lodge. Accommodation Options:

Volcanoes National Park is Located in the north-western part of the country, near the borders with Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the park forms part of the Virunga Mountain Ranges, with towering volcanoes like Mount Karisimbi, Mount Bisoke, and Mount Muhabura dominating the skyline. The park's terrain also features dense rainforests, crater lakes, and ancient lava flows, creating an awe-inspiring backdrop for visitors. It is international re-known for the Mountain-Gorilla Conservation and other primates.

After an early morning breakfast, we go for gorilla trekking / golden monkeys, starting with the briefing from the rangers at 0800 hours. It is necessary to take packed lunch, surgical masks, hiking boats. After trekking and debrief return to lodge. In the evening, free evening at the lodge or optional visit of visit Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund Campus a significant conservation hub located near Volcanoes National Park. Dinner and overnight at Lodge. Accommodation Options:

Breakfast, transfer to Kibuye on the Shores of lake kivu in the South of Rwanda along a distance of km 150, lunch en route or at lodge. In the afternoon visit the Napoleon Island, which is one of the islands in Lake Kivu, w located on the border between the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Rwanda in Central Africa.  Napoleon Island is famous for its birdlife serving as a sanctuary for various species, including several types of birds that nest there lunch at lodge.Dinner and overnight at lodge. Breakfast, it is advisable to do a full-day cycling through the community following the Congo Nile Trail which starts in Rubavu and ends in Cyangugu. This is a perfect opportunity to enjoy the unspoilt nature of the countryside and get closer to the Local people. Packed lunch / lunch en route.  Dinner and overnight at Lodge. After breakfast, short 2 hour transfer to Nyungwe National Park, lunch at lodge. In the afternoon, we go for zip-lining and canopy walk in Nyungwe National Park. For these activities its advisable to wear trousers and light comfortable clothing. Return to lodge for Dinner and overnight.   Accommodation Options:

Note: The transfer from Kibuye to Nyungwe Is about km 100 and it takes 2 hours.

After an early morning breakfast, we head for chimpanzee trekking in the park after a briefing from the rangers, chimpanzee trekking takes an average of 5 hours with the contact time limited to only one hour. Lunch at lodge. Free afternoon at lodge. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

After breakfast, return to Kigali, lunch is included en route and dinner at a local restaurant in Kigali. If time allows possible visit of Nyanza Royal it is a historical and cultural site located in Nyanza, in the Southern Province of Rwanda. It was the royal residence of the kings (Mwami) of the Kingdom of Rwanda. Lunch en route and continue to Nyungwe National Park.

Note: The distance from Nyungwe to Kigali is about km 180 and it’s a 4 hour transfer excluding stopover at Nyanza.
